Ed James
Managing Director
Background:
Straight after university I started working in horse racing, becoming an amateur jockey/assistant trainer and riding 25 winners. I then trained racehorses in Lambourn for 5 years before joining Sporting Agenda with my old friends Freddie and Sue Tulloch in 2003. I am the Managing Director of Sporting Agenda and oversee the day-to-day operations, as well as the trading of Wimbledon debenture tickets for our biggest two weeks of the year.
Favourite Sporting Experience:
Finishing 3rd at 33-1 in the 1997 Foxhunters when riding over the Grand National fences at Aintree
Sporting Memory:
Racing with my parents – I remember standing on top of the old stands at Aintree watching Churchtown Boy win the Topham in 1977, 2 days before he finished second to Red Rum in the Grand National itself. Dad had run Flower Child who fell at the chair and ended up becoming the dam of the great Desert Orchid. Also the 2005 Ashes - it had everything.
Sporting Heroes:
Joe Mercer, Lester Piggott, Kenny Dalglish and for the future Iga Swiatek.
